1/6/07 - The site was down for a few days while whe transferred servers. Sorry about that.
Also, we've removed the button to buy the CD since we're pretty well sold out. Luckly, you can still download the entire album.
2/2/07 - I've finally gotten off my lazy duff and added the Paypal button so that people can buy our CD from the webpage. You can order it from the Discography page.
12/17/06 - Because many of you have no idea what it's saying:
Hey kids, Zombie Newton here with "Little Known Facts About To Slay Zombie Newton." Did you know that a certain, rodent-themed pop group, generally thought to have formed in 1958 originally got together about five years prior as a To Slay Zombie Newton Cover group called "Zombie and the Chipmunks?" They did not last long, and soon they broke up and reformed as the group you know and love today, but they left an enduring legacy. We've managed to track down one of their old recordings, and now we present it to you in all it's original glory. Here it is: the Zombie and the Chipmunks cover of "The Song We Wrote Last Night."
If you've tried to download any songs from our site lately, I'm sorry. After I put the site back up, I forgot to upload the MP3s again.
12/2/06 - In case you've checked the site in the last week or two, we're sorry. Our web host reset some things, and our account got deleted. Between schoolwork and what not, we didn't have time to get it back up until now.
10/8/06 - The show behind the house went great! Several people showed up. We did two sets, and weren't ridiculed at all! Or at least, we weren't ridiculed much... Wurm and Stephen also played an extra show on Saturday night when they went to Water street to busk for the drunken homecoming crowd.
On a sadder note, Zombie Newton is now parting ways with founding rhythm guitarist Andy Wilkins. Andy has to concentrate on his film career and no longer has the time to dedicate to a band; he will be missed. The flip side of this is that we need to find a new guitarist. If you play rhythm guitar and are interested in playing with To Slay Zombie Newton, please contact us for auditioning information.
10/2/06 - We've got a show coming up! Come to our house (1239 S. Farwell in Eau Claire) at 5 PM this coming Friday for our CD release party. We'll be doing two sets of music, and we'll be providing refreshments. Mmm... free hot dogs! Plus, we'll be selling our CDs and shirts for special discount prices!
9/18/06 - Update to the discography page: The complete song list from chapter the first is now posted on the discography page. Tablature is available for The Song We Wrote Last Night, Stigmata, Ecstasy, French Marsupials, and Davnesaur. Look for more tabs and lead guitar tabs in the near future.
9/4/06 - The album is done! Chapter the first is officially available for sale. If you're in the Eau Claire area, you can pick up your copy by talking to anyone in the band. If you're elsewhere you can e-mail us for ordering instructions.
Errata: We're not perfect, and we make mistakes. Here are the mistakes we've found so far in the CD. Collect them all! Years from now, the copies with these errors will be worth millions on E-bay.
CD face - The word "Wherein" has been misspelled as "Wherin."
First page of the insert - The line "The following is not a work of fiction" should be "The following is a work of fiction." Very few portions of the album are actually true.
The page featuring French Marsupials - The German informants should be sniffing around for DNA, not fro DNA. That doesn't make any sense. 'fros don't have genetics.
There is not thirteenth track. If there appears to be a thirteenth song on the album, it's probably just a hardware failure on your CD player.
7/3/06 - Random shout outs! Topher has started working on PR materials for us. Go Toph for being less lazy than us!
Liz has been steadily working on artwork for the album since shortly after we started recording it. Go Liz!
Speaking of the album, we only have three songs left to finish. Expect the whole thing to be available for general purchase by late August.
6/4/06 - We took a bunch of pictures last January. Now I'm uploading them to the site. I'm a lazy b*****. What'cha gonna do about it?
Here are some pictures of us recording.
Here are some promotional pictures. They would go in a press package, but Kevin is lazy b***** too. WARNING: very images intensive. Slower connections beware.
1/8/06 - We've started recording for our first full album as a band. Kevin spent the last week here in Eau Claire, laying down the drum tracks. We also got some pictures, thanks to Liz. We'll post the pictures on the site after we get shots of all the band and decide which ones will go in the album art.
12/20/05 - Preparations are well under way for the recording of our first full-length album. We hope to have most of the actual recording done by mid-January. Look for updates on the final product in the late winter/early spring.
Do you want a chance to play at the same show as your favorite band? Would you settle for To Slay Zombie Newton? Coming up in April is the annual NoBrandCon anime and gaming convention. This year, we're adding a new event: a battle of the bands. Any convention atendee is allowed to enter, free-of-charge in this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to rock out in front of dozens of your peers. For more information, e-mail Steve or check out the NoBrand forums.
By the way, if you have a web site, feel free to link to this one. Anything to get Google to notice our existence. So far Google, Yahoo, and Altavista have been unable to find this page. MSN, Ask Jeeves, and Lycos have; props to them.
10/26/05 - I think I've got most if not all of the bugs with Mozilla ironed out. Unfortunately, this means that there is a problem with IE. I'll start working on that once I find myself a computer running a different browser and figure out which browser has messed up. If you happen to use Netscape, AOL, etc. you can e-mail me and tell me if the little red bar that should be at the bottom of the page is in the right place.
10/21/05 - Ha! I fooled you! As those of you with Firefox probably already know, the site has yet to achieve full functionality. I just finished fixing the syntax so that W3C likes it. I'm tempted to jut call it good and let you Mozilla users fend for yourselves, but I'll probably get it fixed eventually. But hey! There is good news. If you just swallow your pride and use Internet Explorer, you can download several of our songs in Mp3 format. We'll try to record more (and better) music over winter break.
10/3/05 - As you can see, our web page is up and has full functionality. Content is coming soon. Check back often for updates and reductions in lamitude!
5/05 - This one time we played at the Horan Hall hog roast. Check out some pictures!
